Salvation Army Adopt-A-Family is a philanthropic event that ZIWI has participated in for the last 3 years to help local families who are in financial need to provide Christmas gifts for their children. We were proud to support 10 families this 2022 holiday season, all of which are led by single mothers, consisting of 24 children in total across the families.
Last year 329 families and seniors were adopted through the program, and with rising cost of living, the goal for the organization is to bring gifts and peace of mind to at least 400 families in total this year.
We are proud that between both employee and company contributions, we were able to provide our 10 families with $1,525 in gift cards and $100 each for groceries to buy Christmas Dinner as well as a $25 gift card of the family’s choice. For the children, we filled a stocking with age-appropriate gifts and yummy treats and were able to collate a collection of gifts on their wish lists like clothing, toys, accessories, and games.
We are overjoyed to be able to support and give back to families in our community and are grateful to our employees for their generous contributions to make a happier holiday season for those in need around us. We look forward to a continued partnership with Salvation Army for many holidays to come!
