    Kansas City defensive end Derrick Nnadi is partnering with ZIWI and KC Pet Project for a fifth season to help dogs find their forever homes. Nnadi has covered adoption fees at the shelter since the 2019-20 season and this year, Nnadi will cover the adoption fees for one dog at KC Pet Project following each win. 
    ZIWI, an air-dried pet food company, is supporting the adoption initiative again this year through continuing to provide each new pet parent with a swag bag full of ZIWI goodies. “ZIWI is proud to be a part of this partnership again with Derrick Nnadi and Kansas City Pet Project. Watching so many of the long-standing residents at the shelter go home to happy new families in seasons’ past has brought our company immense pride to be a part of.”, said Jessica Krueger, Senior Marketing Manager at ZIWI. Additionally, they will be working with select pet retailers to bring benefits to local pet parents. “This year we are excited to extend the benefits of KC victories out to pet parents in our community.     KC Pet Project uses the partnership as an added incentive for animal lovers to adopt dogs who’ve been at the shelter for an extended period of time, such special needs dogs, large dogs, and older dogs. “We’re so excited to kick off our 5th year of finding homes for the dogs at our shelter thanks to our partnership with Derrick Nnadi. Over the 5 years, close to 500 dogs have been adopted thanks to his generosity. We’re so grateful to Derrick for all he does for our pets and for our community,” said Tori Fugate, chief communications officer of KC Pet Project. 
    The long-lasting partnership has not only covered the adoption fees of hundreds of dogs hoping to find new families, but it has drawn international awareness to pet adoptions and inspired many other individuals and companies to take action in their communities.  
    As the football season gets underway, KC Pet Project will be posting each dog to be sponsored by Nnadi on their social channels following each victory.
